The 2007 Hurricane Season officially began June 1 and will run through November 30, 2007. The National Hurricane Center forecasts that there will be 13 to 17 named storms, with 7 to 10 of those becoming hurricanes, and 3 to 5 of those are forecasted to be major hurricanes. An average Atlantic hurricane season brings 11 named storms, with six becoming hurricanes, including two major hurricanes. The names for this season will be Andrea, Barry, Chantal, Dean, Erin, Felix, Gabrielle, Humberto, Ingrid, Jerry, Karen, Lorenzo, Melissa, Noel, Olga, Pablo, Rebekah, Sebastien, Tanya, Van, and Wendy.
